Hello all who may stumble across this page,
You may call me Cori. I am a female 19 year old atheist college student and I consider my self a relatively militaristic anti-theist. I was a Baptist Christian for my first sixteen years of life until I did more research into religion and science which made me begin doubting my religious faith. At this point I decided to sit down and read the Bible cover to cover (the king James version BTW) and that cemented my atheism because in my 16 years of Sunday school I had never heard many if these terrible and/or stupidly illogical stories.
Now in the last three years of being an open atheist I have found many people both religious and non who haven't read the bible because its long its stupid and most importantly its very very boring. As such I have decided to make my own little atheist bible study. As such I'm going to go through the bible chop it up a little at a time and give my opinions on it. eventually I may make that audio but for this little experiment it will be text only.
However don't get me wrong I'm not an expert in the bible or religion, my major is Biotechnology. However I do want to reexamine the bible and maybe help other people who have the same issue getting through this very boring book. Now notice I said people not atheist. Though this will be my take on the bible as an atheist I hope some religious people come and read through the bible with me and anyone else who pops in.
Now that I got my rambling intro done hope you come back when I get to the legit, well quote unquote legit, bible. Grab your bibles or find a free one online, read along with me, and start up a debate ask questions about the bible as I bring it up. I might not know the answer but someone might ;). I want a real discussion but an at least semi civil one.
Until we really start this party have a good (insert time period between when you read this and my next post)
